ee ea story, printable story, and wall signs

If you are interested in teaching students’ ee, ea while reading a story than this is the activity for you. This activity makes learning ee, ea fun and engaging.  The story tells why the ee, ea make the sounds that they do.  The wall signs come with songs and a short story.  My students have really liked using this activity when we are learning about ee, ea.  I will use this activity the first day to introduce the skill.

This activity comes with:

A Story, Wall Display, Printable Story, and Worksheet 

       

-The Story explains why ee and ea say their name.  

          

-There are two Wall Displays.  Each Wall Display has two songs and a short story that goes along with the longer version.

-The Printable Story can be sent home so students can practice reading 

-Worksheet: students will read the words and write them under ee or ea
-This product comes in color and black and white

Black and White Word Cards

-I made a card for every ee and ea word used in this activity.  You can either send the cards home or create games using the cards like Memory or Go Fish.  I left some blank so you can fill in your own words.

Lesson Plan

-I created a lesson plans that could be used for this literacy activity.  The lesson plan comes with common core state standards, ideas on how to use the story, wall display, and a worksheet. 

Video Ideas and Books that Teach EE and EA

-I wrote down videos that cover EE and EA.  I also wrote down books that you can read that will help emphasize on EE and EA.

Here is an example on how to use the story: On chart paper, draw a line in the middle.  Write ee on one side and ea on the other side.  Read the story and sing the songs from the wall display.  Have students listen for ee and ea words.  Then have them get with a partner and tell them the words that they heard.  After they have told their partner, call on students to tell you what words that they heard and write it on the chart paper under the correct category.
